Plumbogummite- Drygill mine, Caldbeck Fells, Cumberland

The specimens featured here were all collected during the 1970's just before I went to Australia to find my fortune in the gold mines of Kalgoorlie - I've decided its about time some of them found other homes. This Plumbogummite is from the discovery in the mid 1970's, by Ralph Sutcliffe and friends in a lower level of the mine, which collapsed shortly after the discovery was worked out.

These are extremely rare these days - once they are gone, that's it! We are of course happy to purchase good specimens from collectors. We still have a number of smaller, less expensive pieces which resulted from trimming the large museum pieces. If your budget doesn't extend to these, please contact me, and I'll see what can be done to help you acquire a suitable piece.
